My first proper winter mountain hike. A few weeks ago as I was going to the studio I kept looking at the snowy Vitosha and daydreaming about being up there, instead of the small room I was heading to. I knew it was time for me to head out to the mountains. I found a group for beginners with experienced leaders. The destination was Musala Peak, Rila. New year's eve. In the next few days I made arrangements and got everything I needed for the adventure that awaited me. I knew it would be difficult, I was out of shape, trapped in that small room for nearly two months. It was also my first winter mountain. The group turned out to be much bigger than I thought it would be and I didn't know anyone there. The one I wanted to meet was Rila. My first hike there as well. By the time we got back to the lift one of the leaders stopped, turned around, and said to me: " You know, you really enjoy the mountains, don't you? You keep looking around and taking it all in. Your eyes wander all around and even the smallest thing fascinates you! I used to be like you in the first two years in the mountains." Needless to say, he was right. Here are the few moments in which I got to use my camera. In the others, I was fighting for my life and trying to remember how to breathe. Enjoy
